Hi there Helena and HG1 team
I think that the more input the better then everyone gains from everyone elses' experiences and thoughts. Anyone can join in but if your HG1 team would like a post set up attached to this blog I can do that quite easily. See what they want to do and let me know. It seems a little silly to have separate blogs when we are all serving the same great God. It is all for His glory. I was interested to read what you wrote about self esteem. I think that this holds many of us back from reaching our full potential in the Lord (well me anyway LOL) and it is only by stepping out in faith that we can learn to see ourselves as God sees us through His grace.

Nice to hear what you are doing in HG3, but does HG1 (or is it 2?) have to set up a separate blog to say what WE are doing? If not, then we have been studying 'Self Esteem'. This week it was about handling guilt. We have each been thinking, I'm sure, that no one else in the group has a low self esteem - only ourselves! It appears that all of us suffer with this problem in some way and at some time, but those of us who are 'old in the tooth' and have been on the Christian road for a long time have learned to cope with low self esteem perhaps a little better than younger members. We all agree that we don't NEED to have a low self esteem because God's love for us - personally - should make us feel better about ourselves! We keep on trying, anyway!

Pentecost service at Bedford Square was fab. Something wonderful about praising and worshiping God outside! Also just so encouraging to see so many people there praising God and knowing we will be back there on Saturday stepping out in faith.
I missed you all Monday but see you soon.X

Hi folks,

Just to keep you up with HG3 if you couldn't make it, this week we looked at 2Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves, pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again" [Good News Bible.]

This has come from the prayer 24 hours a day for one week at Abbey Chapel but also came out at BAUC during our night of prayer last year. It was mentioned as an important scripture by Jeff Moles when he spoke on Sunday in the square.

This week we put aside Acts to look at some of the key aspects to be learned from this verse starting with humility. Please see the attached notes if you want to follow what we looked at in detail. We particulary looked at what Jesus did and said concerning humility, by reading the scriptures in Holman's Bible dictionary notes starting "New Testament". They show us how important our attitude to ourselves and others is from God's perspective. Also, as a nation (as came out of the Maranatha weekend) how we should take responsibility for the decisions that have been made, the legislation passed etc that have undermined family values, the sanctity of life, and led to the breakdown of communities, by asking forgiveness for our part, and standing up for Jesus and christian values whenever we have the opportunity. We should not be apathetic! We read Heb 12v1 about pressing on and doing our bit because it is our time to carry the torch of the Good News to our generation.

We also had a prayer session where we all practised praying out loud - I think it was special for most of us to "Amen" so many personal expressions of thanks to God for who He is and what He's done.

Finally, sorry folks but I've messed up how to access the blog - HG3ers say there is good stuff on there and I will get the details sent around soonest so you can have a go as well (although I bet many of you are ahead of me on this one!). WHen I finally get back on I'll add these notes to it as well.

Bye for now - don't forget Julie Overnell this Saturday with the launch of the Young Mum's group - if you can't make it o support the event like me, please pray.

God's best blessings to all you lovely people. Trev x
