Notes
Apr 30th, 2008 by hg3berealston
This week we were joined by Paul and Jackie Gill, and Trevor P-H which gave added flavour to the mix. Worship centred on Jesus and His love for us and we shared bread and wine, to remember His sacrifice and His promised return. We thought of the words last week about Love. Donald Barnhouse said:Love that goes upward is worship; love that goes outward is affection; love that stoops is grace! The picture is of the King stooping down to bestow favour for no deserved reason on a common person. Grace can’t be purchased, or even earned. There are no strings attached. We should not even try to repay it as to do so is insulting…….all we need to do is accept His grace by receiving the free gift of eternal life bought for us by Christ’s sacrifice (paraphrased from The grace awakening by Charles Swindoll). Paul also read a clipping that he had in his bible about Love. I can’t remember it all, but I remember it was about our attitude to others, it said that we show love to others by valuing and encouraging them. (Perhaps Paul will email it back to us all?). We also talked again about the idea of prayer being likened to sun-bathing or slipping into a warm bath and letting the love of God wash over us. We did a bit of “SON bathing” and Hilary brought words of an old song about letting “the love of God enfold us”. We prayed that we would spend time with Him so that we were changed and people would notice the difference! We continued studying in Acts from Chapter 16 - noted that Paul had to compromise his beliefs to satisfy Jewish believers. Religious pressure is a powerful thing! Poor Timothy lost his foreskin as a result. But the result was “The churches became stronger in faith and grew larger every day” Acts 16:5 Dorinda noted that God broke Paul and the others out of prison in a different way than He had done with Peter. We remarked that God doesn’t always do things the same way, so there is little point in having set ways of doing things. We talked about the Maranatha method of body ministry, and Paul G shared his experience of a healing ministry that involved, stepping out of your shoes, as a physical expression of leaving past hurts or old self behind (or something like that, sorry if I wasn’t listening properly?). Methods of doing Christian stuff are good but we can’t manipulate God by our religious practices - He simply isn’t impressed! Robin hit he nail when he said, “We need to listen to the Holy Spirit to guide us”. We noted that in v10 the “they” became “we” in the narrative indicating that Luke, the author had joined Paul at this point. Paul (Gill, not of Tarsus) noted that the people were incredibly violent in Macedonia always ready for a rumble and not averse to using sticks and stones. The word going out had a massive impact wherever they went. People either accepted or reject the good news totally! Rome was still in charge and so it was perhaps not surprising there was violence and cruelty as the norm in society at the time. (Have things changed that much?). Paul (of Tarsus) said Romans 7:24 “Who will rescue me from this body of death?” Paul was referring to the Roman practice of tying a dead person to a murderer until the decaying carcass infected the individual and he died. He was comparing this “body of death” to our old sin nature which we still carry around with us, that makes us do the things we don’t want to do. The answer?……….”Thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord” Rom7:25.Hilary noted that Paul stood up for his rights when he and the team were beaten and thrown into prison without trial. Perhaps we should be prepared to stand up to social injustice? We concluded in prayer for all the stuff happening in Bere Alston (& Tavistock) at the moment. Get involved in the week of prayer, the carnival, yoof work, single parents work, and anything else God sends our way, but don’t forget to Son bathe from time to time. He loves you!If you got this far –WELL DONE! You are rewarded by a week off as next Monday we share in a BBQ (weather permitting) bring some food, drink etc to Ian & Gill’s at 6pm onwards. Tues HG are invited.Love you all, T (Holy x)

2 Chronicles 7:14
If God’s people would do three things, God would respond in three ways. The Lord’s people needed to become humble, that is, confess; they needed to pray, or repent; and they needed to turn, or come back to Him. If they did, God would hear, forgive, and heal them.
HUMILITY A personal quality in which an individual shows dependence on God and respect for other persons.
Old Testament The Old Testament connects the quality of humility with Israel’s lowly experience as slaves in Egypt—a poor, afflicted, and suffering people (Deut. 26:6). The Hebrew word translated as humility is similar to another Hebrew word meaning “to be afflicted.” In Old Testament thought, humility was closely associated with individuals who were poor and afflicted (2 Sam. 22:28).
What God desires most is not outward sacrifices but a humble spirit (Psa. 51:17; Mic. 6:8). Such a humble spirit shows itself in several ways: (1) a recognition of one’s sinfulness before a holy God (Isa. 6:5); (2) obedience to God (Deut. 8:2); and (3) submission to God (2 Kings 22:19; 2 Chron. 34:37).
The Old Testament promised blessings to those who were humble: (1) wisdom (Prov. 11:2); (2) good tidings (Isa. 61:1); and (3) honor (Prov. 15:33).
The experience of many kings indicated that those who humble themselves before God will be exalted (1 Kings 21:29; 2 Kings 22:19; 2 Chron. 32:26; 33:12, 19). Those who do not humble themselves before God will be afflicted (2 Chron. 33:23; 36:12). The pathway to revival is the way of humility (2 Chron. 7:14).
New Testament Jesus Christ’s life provides the best example of what it means to have humility (Matt. 11:29; 1 Cor. 4:21; Phil. 2:1-11). Jesus preached and taught often about the need for humility (Matt. 23:12; Mark 9:35; Luke 14:11; 18:14). He urged those who desired to live by Kingdom standards to practice humility (Matt. 18:1; 23:12).
The person with humility does not look down on others (Matt. 18:4; Luke 14:11). Humility in the New Testament is closely connected with the quality of “meekness” (Matt. 5:5). While God resists those who are proud, He provides grace for the humble (Jas. 4:6). Primary in the New Testament is the conviction that one who has humility will not be overly concerned about his or her prestige (Matt. 18:4; 23:12; Rom. 12:16; 2 Cor. 11:7).
Paul believed that quality relationships with other people, especially those who had erred spiritually, hinged on the presence of meekness or humility (1 Cor. 4:21; Gal. 6:1; 2 Tim. 2:25). The New Testament affirms, as does the Old Testament, that God will exalt those who are humble and bring low those who are proud (Luke 1:52; Jas 4:10; 1 Pet. 5:6). The Greek world abhorred the quality of meekness or humility, but the Christian community believed these qualities were worthy (2 Cor. 10:18; Col. 3:12; Eph. 4:2).
Gary Hardin
Humility
(Heb. ‛ănāwâ, “gentleness, affliction,” also from ‛ānâ, “to be bowed down”; Gk. tapeinophrosunē, “lowliness of mind,” praotēs, “gentleness”). Humility in the spiritual sense is an inwrought grace of the soul that allows one to think of himself no more highly than he ought to think (Ephesians 4:1-2; Colossians 3:12-13; cf. Romans 12:3). In contrast, the moralists considered humility (from humus, “earth”) to be meanness of spirit. The exercises of it are first and chiefly toward God (Matthew 11:29; James 1:21). It requires us to feel that in God’s sight we have no merit and to in honor prefer others to ourselves (Romans 12:10; cf. Proverbs 15:33). It does not demand undue self-depreciation but rather lowliness of self-estimation and freedom from vanity. The Gk. term praotēs, “gentleness” (rendered “meekness” in KJV) expresses a spirit of willingness and obedience and a lack of resistence to God’s dealings with us. But humility must also be expressed towards those who wrong us, in order that their insults and wrongdoing might be used by God for our benefit (see Acts 20:18-21). It is enjoined of God (Psalm 25:9; Colossians 3:12; James 4:6, 10) and is essential to discipleship under Christ (Matthew 18:3-4).

Notes from meeting on Monday 19th May
This week we concentrated on Praise. Praise is the highest occupation of any being. When we praise the Father we rees6tablish the proper chain of command; we recognise that he King is on the throne and that He has saved His people. The purpose of Praise is to lifts our hearts and hands; exult with our voices, and sing His praises – it is the occupation of those who dwell in the Kingdom. It is a foretaste of our heavenly destiny to co-reign with Christ.
After our time of Praise we prayed for all that is going on and shared in the excitement of the Pentecost Service in the Square, Prayer in the square, the young parents event, the progress on the youth group and in Plymouth the advent of “Street Pastors”. Really, there is so much to get enthusiastic about! God’s people (the church), are on the move and the gates of hell will not prevail against it!
We sang “Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me”. We need His Spirit because when we get out the boat we find ourselves in desperate need of His strength and comfort – don’t we Robin? See his comments on the blog! But, God never fails to turn up and we know when we are doing the stuff He wants us to do – He is going to be right there with us.
There will be no HG3 next week but if you want some homework – try reading from Acts 18:18 onwards and be prepared to give any insights you receive in 2 weeks time.
A really great time of sharing this week! Remember to continue to pray for Hilary and those on the list circulated by Graham (also on the blog).
Love and peace to you all. Trevor
Trevor
No HG3 this week please read Acts from about Chpt 18 - to discuss next week. Thanks
This week we started by looking at Phillipians 2
Be Unselfish like Christ
5 In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.
6 Christ himself was like God in everything. But he did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for his own benefit.
7 But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born to be a man and became like a servant.
8 And when he was living as a man, he humbled himself and was fully obedient to God, even when that caused his death—death on a cross.
9 So God raised him to the highest place. God made his name greater than every other name
10 so that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus—
everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.
11 And everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and bring glory to God the Father.
This links to our thoughts about Praise from last time we met - if you remember Praise is about acknowledging God’s authority and our position in Him which ultimately is to co-reign with Christ. This is balanced by our study on humility. Christ made Himself like a servant fully obedient to God (v8) - this is our model; “think and act like Christ” (v5) . Then: And only then: are we fit to be raised by God (v9) to be with Him in the highest place where we will reign as children of God and inheritors of HIs Kingdom. This concept is difficult for us because we feel we should be self depracting and Jesus exalting but to dismiss the ultimate intention of God for our lives is to miss the truth that we have to learn alot in this life to become more like Christ so that we are fit for purpose for eternity. In other words fully embrace God’s plan for your life and “Be the People God Wants You to Be”.
We continued in Acts learning that some early believers hadn’t heard about Jesus but had repented and belived from John the baptists ministry and were preaching Kingdom of heaven stuff without the authority of the Holy Spirit. Paul baptised them, “In the name of Jesus”, so that they could receive His Spirit and go out strengthened and empowered to preach the good news. through the 7 sons of Sheva (a Jewish Preist) we learn that the enemy knows Jesus, knows Paul and therefore knows us who are also baptised into Christ. Being baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit is a prerequisite for battle with the enemy!
We continue to pray for God to bless the work of the Prayer in the Square*, the young parents group and the youth groups (established and about to be). Let’s remember Ian and Robin as they go into BA school to spread the word.
Sorry this is late but I’ve had a busy week. The new day centre is now ready for business, I hope it is successful; please pray for us that God blesses the work that will hopefully go on there.
That’s all folks! Love in Him. Trev x

Hello all,
Trev couldn’t be with us on Monday cos he has the lurgy and is all snotty so unfortunately HG3 had to put up with me.(probably a lesson in love, self control, patience ha ha!)
Anyway we had a little look at worship and that
a) anyone can do it - once you’ve made Him Lord of your life, Jesus accepts your worship
b) That God is looking for people who will do it - God created us to do the only thing He cannot do for himself! Worship Him
c) Worship is not defined in the scripture , that’s because it is a powerful outpouring of our hearts towards the Lord and represents such love, gratitude and devotion that it cannot be put into words, nor can it be defined by a song, a shout, or silence.
We had a look at Revelation 4 and the throne room in heaven where our lord is worshipped day and night without ceasing.
After that we then went back to Acts and read about Eutychus who fell out the window and died cos Paul kept on preaching for ages. Anyhow he was brought back to life and Paul carried on preaching till daybreak.
(Hilary’s favourite story!)
We then read about Paul saying a tearful goodbye to the Ephesians and travelling on to Jerusalem.
We closed in prayer and then we all prayed for each other, first for the person on our right , then for the person on out left, we all prayed all together out loud -praise God for hearing each one of us.
Hope this is ok and makes sense lots of love X

Thanks Deepink for taking the lead. Likewise I didn’t make all of this weeks meeting but there was a good few already there when I finally turned up after taking Gaby camping near Padstow (last minute).
I did go to see Ian McCormack speak at Tavy College last week with some friends seeking faith. Powerful story! Encouraging because Ian confirms Jesus has prepared eternity for us and it’s great ‘cos he’s seen it! Challenging ‘cos he also visited hell and that was so bad he wouldn’t want his worst enemy to go there. It made me want to never miss an opportunity to tell people about Jesus and to never be embarrassed about my conviction that He is the only way to the father. Let’s make it our mission to help save as many from hell as we can by any means possible because this is what God wants for everyone.
We read 1Peter1v2-8 about how to live our lives -it’s worth another read! Also, if you want to read Ian’s story try copying this link into your browser.

Love to all, Trevor
This week we looked at patience and perseverance and that to be in God’s will is to accept His timing, and that He works in way higher than ours to achieve His purposes and that He is not slow (as some including me tend to think) but He is more interested in developing our maturity than helping us achieve our ambitions. “All of my ambitions, hopes and plans, I surrender into His hands” its all about Jesus!!
Sometimes we limit God by our lack of understanding about how awesome He is. John the apostle had a vision of the risen Christ in heaven (Rev 5) and he fell at His feet in awe. This is the same John who sat next to Jesus at the last supper and called himself the one who Jesus loved. The relationship is still one of love, but there was a change in how John related to Jesus as “Lord of Lords and King of Kings”. We need a fresh revelation of the awesomeness of Jesus we need to know Him as friend and Lord.
Next week we have a visit from Helen to talk about her experience of the Florida revival.
One commentator writes……..
“They were not disappointed. The music, led by worship leader, Roy Fields, was uplifting and full of praise to God. It was remarkable to hear that many people praising God all at once, some folks moving to the sound. Voices were lifted in prayer and many hands raised. Some denominations frown on this display of joy and gladness, however, people from these same denominations have no problem with screaming until they are hoarse in loyalty for their favorite sports team. Dancing in any sort of manner is fine when these same people are glued to their TV watching “Dancing With The Stars”, but let believers express their joy to their Father and there is plenty to wag tongues about. Here Christians were glorifying God and praising Him for His love and sacrifice for them. Flags were waved in honor and celebration. A shofar was blown by Messianic brother Jews. The praise and worship lasted for an hour and forty-five minutes. God’s Spirit was definitely present with His people. Then Pastor Bentley began to give us his exhortation followed by impartation of the blessing of the Holy Spirit to the many pastors and church leaders who had come throughout the last 49 days for training in evangelism and healing ministries. Pastors from Ghana, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Israel, Pakistan, Iran, India, China, Norway and many other countries were eager to receive a blessing to take back to their people. There were Americans from many distant states such as Colorado and California as well. Those who had attended training that afternoon, before the service, had gone out afterward to talk to people on the streets of Lakeland and to knock on doors. Many people had come to know Jesus for the first time. Others had put down drugs and alcohol and come to the revival meeting with those who had led them to know Jesus. We were introduced to them and heard their testimonies of deliverance.
The healing part of the service touched my heart. There was a family there from South Africa who had a small son, just seven years old, with an inoperable brain tumor and had been given only a short time to live. That family was so precious. The father and the mother were in tears with grief. Pastor Bentley began to pray and talk to the little boy who, himself, asked for healing. All of us were moved in our spirits and began to pray deeply for that child. He then became strong enough to stand and relay to us the healing warmth he felt rise up in his body. We were amazed and so grateful. Others came who were deaf, and had been deaf all of their lives, only to be able, now, to hear. Some came who had been battling cancer. You could see the struggle they had waged in their bodies. They were all laid hands on and prayed for. Some were able to immediately get up out of their wheelchairs. It is so wonderful to have a Heavenly Father who hears our prayers and sees our hurts. It is so powerful when ordinary people, saved by grace come together to seek His face in wonder and awe before an Almighty God.
I went back to our hotel with a great sense of renewed peace and joy over what we had seen and experienced. There was no denying revival in Lakeland. My daughter and I talked into the night about things deep in our souls. It was a trip I am so glad we took. We will continue to talk about that revival for years to come. I hope others will go and be a part of it. I hope they will bring the good news of Jesus and the presence of God home to their families and communities, and yes, their churches. Our nation and our world desperately need such a revival”.
It was great to see Judith who has recently moved to teh village. I won’t spoil her testimony as I’m sure she would like to share it with you all suffice to say that God took Judith to a place where she was able to say with complete sincerity, “Your will be done in my life”! God showed Judith that He had a plan for her life and brought her here through a series of Godincidences. Welcome to BAUC and HG3!
We prayed for each other and for special needs and ministries. I believe we are going to see God’s spirit move in a fresh and powerful way but we need to exercise patience and be prepared to wait on the Lord for His timing. Of course waiting doesn’t have to be unproductive time because as always God wants us to continue to seek Him and come close top Him. May we all spend the time wisely until we meet again.
Please pray for Lesley’s sister and for the Leaders meeting on Saturday as well as all the other stuff.
God bless y’all, Trev
Just to add to the last notes here is Graham’s info and prayer requests on Pits.
Dear All
An update on last Saturday and confirmation that
Last Saturday was again quite different from previous days. There were six of us in the Square and five interceding in Abbey Chapel. It seemed much harder on the Square, not only was it quite wet to begin with, but people were far less responsive. We physically prayed with very few people, although received a number of prayer requests (below) and again had some interesting conversations. We had felt in the prayer time before hand that while we would love to see signs and wonders, it was far more important that God’s will be done, so we committed the time to that, and we trust that is what actually happened.
While we were in the Square, a lady called Helen came by and shared her testimony about what had happened to her during her recent visit to the ‘Healing Revival’ that is currently happening in Florida. I am sure some of you will have heard of it or seen on God TV what is going on there and I am also sure that there is not a consensus among us as to whether it is truly of God or not! However, Helen seemed genuine and she offered to pray with us in the Square. I took notes on what she prayed for everyone and her prayers were uplifting, encouraging and I believe prophetic. They certainly helped the team! The focus of the intercessing team in the second part of the time was also on us rather than on others, so perhaps God was encouraging us, as well as working through us, this week.
Again, I would be grateful if you could pass the prayer requests below onto your own prayer groups to pray for
Prayer Requests
Bruce Johns who has mental illness
Daughter of Colin Beck asked for prayer for him, he has Alzheimer’s
Amy aged 9 who is very upset over the death of her teacher
Norman aged 97 who is near death in Chollacott house (I believe he may have since died)
Wendy Williams who was in hospital with kidney problems
St Pauls Yelverton who are losing their Vicar
Francis Griffiths who has just had a knee replacement
Matilda MacPherson and her premature baby (less than 4 lbs) - pray she grows and is ok
Michael Dunn who has lymphoma
Elsie Wilcox with arthritis
Norman who feels he and his family have been afflicted by black witchcraft, especially his son Christian
Anna, an alcoholic who has care of her young children - this request is from her ex husband
Sortia - a little girl aged 8ish whose friend is leaving her school
Lady whose had a nerve problem with her leg
Man whose wife committed suicide last December
Graham Boot-Handford
us be encouragers.
Following last weeks meeting we realise how encouraging it is when peoploe move in God’s gifts. We want to exercise our faith and move in the gifts at HG3 so we can bless each other and bless the church as we share in the bigger meeting. We hope to have many testimonies to share in the near future.
As a star tto the planning meeting for Gatway 21.09.08 we looked again att he scripture God laid on our hearts years ago:
Isaiah 58:6 - 14 (NCV) 6 “I will tell you the kind of special day I want: Free the people you have put in prison unfairly and undo their chains. Free those to whom you are unfair and stop their hard labor. 7 Share your food with the hungry and bring poor, homeless people into your own homes. When you see someone who has no clothes, give him yours, and don’t refuse to help your own relatives. 8 Then your light will shine like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your God will walk before you, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind. 9 Then you will call out, and the LORD will answer. You will cry out, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you stop making trouble for others, if you stop using cruel words and pointing your finger at others, 10 if you feed those who are hungry and take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness, and you will be bright like sunshine at noon. 11 The LORD will always lead you. He will satisfy your needs in dry lands and give strength to your bones. You will be like a garden that has much water, like a spring that never runs dry. 12 Your people will rebuild the old cities that are now in ruins; you will rebuild their foundations. You will be known for repairing the broken places and for rebuilding the roads and houses. 13 “You must obey God’s law about the Sabbath and not do what pleases yourselves on that holy day. You should call the Sabbath a joyful day and honor it as the LORD’S holy day. You should honor it by not doing whatever you please nor saying whatever you please on that day. 14 Then you will find joy in the LORD, and I will carry you to the high places above the earth. I will let you eat the crops of the land your ancestor Jacob had.” The LORD has said these things.
We want to give to the poor, let’s find a way for the church to do this as part of this Harvest Thanks giving service. We want to celebrate God’s blessings and goodness with a visible presence of praise and worship, with joy and with testimonies of how good God is. We want a party to invite our close non-churchy friends to and a pig or lamb roastt o feed them.
Jobs to do:
Get Nick the Vic on board. Get tent, band(s), cover for band, pig or lamb, spit and fuel, speaker (maybe OAC ministries) something for kids (Mutley Baptist puppets?). Get enthusiastic about giving, get others enthusiastic aboutthe event, get permission from whoever. Loads of stuff.
Keep praying for those who need it especially Robin’s friend Ian, and Ian and Gill’s friend Scott? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Love to all especially those who had to miss out this week. Trev
hello everyone,
On mon eve we started our worship by reading Psalm 23 (message version)and just reflecting on it. We then loked at the Lord’s prayer, taking it a bit at a time and thinking about what it means and how we can ‘pray’ it.
It can be one of those things that just gets spouted off with no real thought to what it is all about, so hopefully we are in a better place now!
OUR FATHER
God is our heavenly father,He created us,and he knew us and al the days ordained for us before the earth was created-Psalm 139:13&16
He love for us is unconditional
He is perfect
thank him for the miracle of adoption and free access to his loving presence.
IN HEAVEN
A place without sorrow or pain, death or mourning
A place where we can look forward to,where God will wipe away every tear-Rev21:4
Rev 21 & 22 gives us a picture of heaven
HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME
Hallowed means to be made holy
When Jesus calls us to hallow the name of God, He’s calling us to meditate on the Character of God
Ponder on the names of God
Jehovah Tsebaaoth- Lord of hosts
Jehovah Elyon- God most high
Jehovah Jireh- God my provider
Jehovah Rohi- The Lord my shepherd
Jehovah Nissi- The Lord my banner
Jehovah Shalom- The Lord my peace
Jehovah Shammah The Lord who is there
Jehovah Tsidkenou- Lord our righteousness
Jehovah Mekadesh- The Lord who sanctifies
Jehovah Raphe- The Lord who heals
Emmanuel - God is with us
Wonderful Counsellor
Everlasting Father
Prince of peace
There are many more names of God in the scriptures ask God to reveal them to you
In todays society God’s name is used as a swear word- lets exalt God’s name to where it should be.
YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IN HEAVEN
Every day as you pray, declare that God’s will shall be done and his Kingdom come in these 4 areas
Yourself: Make yourself right before God
Ask that His righteousness, joy and peace be established in you and that his will for you for that day be set in your spirit
Invite Jesus to assume his rightful place on the throne of your heart to rule your body, soul and spirit
Your church: Ministers and Leaders:that God will anoint them and direct
them, mking them pure channels of which the Gifts and power of the Holy Spirit can flow. Ask God to show them how to breathe in through fellowship and out in evangelism.
Faithfulness: pray that people of our church will be faithful to their families, to the vision God has given our church and to Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to plant them in His house so tey will bring forth fruit as soulwinnners and intercessors. Pray that they will be faithful in tithing, love and serving God as he deserves to be served.
Harvest: pray that everyone in our village that god has ordained to be saved will be planted, strengthened and established in His church.
Your nation: Pray for the prime minister to have wisdom of God and that our spiritual leadres will walk in wisdom, be people of prayer and be kept by the power of God. Think about the needs of our village then the wider community and leading to prayer for our nation and the world.
GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD
Be specific about your needs
Pray, don’t worry Luke 11:9-13
Hold fast to what you ask God sees our need before hand and makes provision
Remember God supplies our needs but not our greeds
FORGIVE US OUR SINS AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO SIN AGAINST US
in archery the target is gold and if your arrow misses the middle bit and lands outside of it , that bit is known as sin
sin is missing the mark, we may be trying or aiming in the right direction but we have missed.
Trespass is deliberately going off track like when you go walking and you come to a field with a sign saying Trespassers will be prosecuted and you go in the field anyway.
Deal with your sins - ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas in your life that are not pleasing to Him, He will help us with that giving us opportunities to get better.
Confess your sin to God also helps to find a pray partner who you can be accountable to for prayer support and to share with
Remember Jesus died for our sins
We cant expect God to forgive us if we don.t forgive others and we are asking that God forgives us AS we forgive others, so forgive well and as often as we want God to forgive us . Release those who we have forgiven to God Pray for those who have wronged us.
Make up your mind to return good for evil by the grace and power of the holy Spirit in you
Love your enimies, bless those who curse you and do good to those who hate you. pray for those who persecute you.
pray that you will experience more of the fruit of the spirit in your lives love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.
LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL
pray for protection for you and your family
put on the full armour of God - Eph 6
stand firm in Christ
Psalm 91
St Patricks breastplate is a useful prayer
FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOR EVER AND EVER
reflect on the glory of the Lord
ask God to show you His glory
AMEN
means I agree, so dont really need to say it when praying on your own unless you like talking to yourself .

See you soon going for my brekkies now, Byee
I think both Dorinda & Trevor deserve great big sloppy kisses ( I nominate Hope) for all the time they give up to posting stuff for those of us with smaller memories to read. Thank you both.

I didn’t agree with you first, but last paragraph makes sense for me…
Hi everyone
Over the holiday period we will not be having a ‘formal’ HG3, but we shall still meet together for whoever is around in a more chilled out way. Next Mon Trev P-H is bringing a DVD on Acts (with dialogue straight out the NIV!) for us to watch. Should be good as we have only just finished looking at acts and as remember bits and pieces of it we’ll be encouraged by what we know.
If anyone wants to find out more about any issues from either the bible or life in general then if they let me know on a Mon eve we can then do some homework/research and bring the following week what we have found out.
God bless you all and have a fab summer xx
Thanks Dorinda for wearing your fingers down for the blog and our sakes. Hoipe you are all have a great summer. I’m just back for afew days to catch up at work then off sailing again. See separate email re Sept Gateway. Hope to see you all soon. Trevor
we started watching the DVD on Acts last night and although there were a few american accents it was encouraging for those watching as the dialogue was word for word out of the NIV and we were able to recognise a lot of the scripture.
We stopped at the end of chapter 7 (Stephen’s stoning) and will resume next week.
HG3 will be hit and miss over the hols as a lot of us will be away at differing times so always best to ring around. Larkin’s number best.
We also prayed for a few people and gave thanks for answered prayer.
so EXCITED cos going to New Wine soon so see you when we get back if you aren’t coming with us.
love dee
